03/01/10 08:36 PM UK Mondeo Duratec 2.0 vs Fiesta ST 2.0 difference by Emiel

Hello all,

I'm looking to buy a car where a Duratec engine is installed. Owner told me it's a 2.0 Duratec HE from a Mondeo.

Car has throttlebodies, Emerald and a custom made exhaust header. Car does something around 150hp flywheel.

What is the difference between the Mondeo duratec and the ST duratec used in the Fiesta ? Is it only the head ? better flowing ? larger exhaust valves ?

I did some googling and try the searched but couldn't find the answer i was looking for.

03/01/10 01:27 PM Remote oil filter take-off plate by grahamb

I had this adapter plate designed and machined for my Ford Fiesta XR2 Mk1 Duratec conversion as I couldn't find anything else that would do what I was looking for, and I simply didn't have the space for a filter housing.

It features 1/2BSP threads for suitable connectors

If you're interested in having one made, speak to BR & D Engineering in the UK, as they still have the CNC data and able to make one-offs.

02/26/10 12:54 AM Belt? by artweek

I am removing the aircon from my 2.0 st150 duratec DHE420 engine, I dont know what belt I have to order as I now wont have the aircon pump so it will be shorter. Is it only a matter of removing the air con compressor and fitting a shorter belt or does the alternator now need to be mounted at the front? Cheers

The drivetrain is back in, the electrical is wired except for the horns & fog lights.
Once the exhaust and rad are plumbed, it is off to the fiberglass fab shop to make the Lotus 15 body fit.

Yipeee!!

02/07/10 08:14 PM More 2.3L AL Flywheel Issues by LocostXI

Hi All:

I am ready to put my 2.3L Duratec Dry Sump Ranger into My Locost XV.

Since I swapped the C.I. stock Ranger flywheel for an AL 2.3L Focus one, I had to change starters. Easy enough....

But now that it is off the dyno, I went to put the clutch/pressure plate back together before putting the Quad4Rods bell housing back on.

Turns out, the AL flywheel is ~ 1/4" thicker than the Ranger one, causing the pressure plate to interfere with the bellhousing. More importantly, the Rnager pressure plate does not capture the clutch when used with the Focus 2.3L Flywheel.

Short term, I am putting the stocker back in to get the car running. After a year with a relatively stock engine to sort the suspension & learn to drive this thing, I will pull the motor again to make some power mods, and will science it all out then.

After 8+ years, I am at a make or break point on this project.

Later,

Mark, builder of "Invincible II"
